When it’s a struggle.
We all struggle with something, and for many of us it is our weight. Struggle is universal, yet it is also individual. What helps me with my struggle may have a different effect for you. We share the common journey to a healthier body weight.
I had to figure this out for myself, and it took a long time. I had to pay attention to the details of my eating behavior such as hunger, thirst, emotional triggers. You are the expert on you. My biggest weight was 220 lbs, and I have no pictures to show for it. In 2012 I was on my way to health at 175 lbs, and from 2014 onwards I hope to stay around 150 lbs. My body size now suits my 5 ‘8” skeleton (my bones are big!) and I feel healthier than ever.
I found a combination of techniques, cheats, tips (whatever you want to call them) that work in my brain to help guide my eating behavior. My brain still sees each day as a struggle for survival, literally life or death. When I get too hungry I will eat almost anything, and without much control. I know this, and I plan ahead. I also understand so much more about the “what, where, why and how” of my eating behavior, and perhaps this book will help you understand yourself better.
All change starts with a decision. We decide, or life decides for us with a sudden, drastic or unexpected event and we move forward differently. I hope this slim volume and its picture format help you on your journey.
